Thmas Hirschhorn (born 1957) is a swiss artists. He worked in 1980s Paris as a grahic artist, part of the Communist group of graphic designers Grapus. He left Grapus in the 90s to create the hyper-saturated installations he is known for today, using common materials such as cardboard, foil, duct tape, and plastic wrap. For his piece “Cavemanman” (2006), he transformed a gallery space into a cave using wood, cardboard, and tape and put various philosophical and pop culture symbols throughout it.
