Ryan Trecartin

Ryan Trecartin (b.1981) is an America artist and filmmaker. He structures his art practice in the same way as a director would with film making, conceiving each show as an experiment in theatrical production. Trecartin conceives loose plots as a basis for collaborative endeavour, delegating many of the responsibilities to friends involved in the creative process. This way “World Wall” (2006) was developed through a series of Mardi Gras float making techniques, a seething monument of chaos, festivity, rebirth, and beauty with the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
