Kent Monkman (born 1965) is a Canadian First Nations artist of Cree and Irish ancestry. His work examine the way indigenous American and Canadian history has been presented by 19th and 20th Century artists, to constructs new stories through images that take into account the missing narratives and perspectives of Aboriginal peoples. Most of his works have strong gay imagery and deal with sexuality and Christianity. "Miss Chief Testickle" is a recurring drag queen aboriginal character in his paintings and videos, an alter-ego of Monkman himself.
